2045
Our mission was to design an electric scooter for the year 2045 to disrupt the current marketplace and innovate towards new solutions in the two wheel automotive industry.
To do this, we wanted to keep our design fast, sleek, and clean. Through many phases of ideation we landed on the following concept.
Sketching
Through many rounds of ideation and refining, we developed the form of the Wasp to be sleek, dynamic, and unique. We had started with a few concepts that were promising and picked aspects of them we thought worked best. From there we focused on refining those aspects including the handlebars, the main body, the rear axle, and many more until we had a wide range of options to choose from. We then matched up the options we felt best fit the design and combined them into one.
Prototyping
Once we had modeled the design, we began creating a full scale prototype to better understand the form and functionality. Throughout this process, we learned a lot about the functionality, building process, and both what to do and what not to do in similar builds. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and funding we were unable to finish the build before the deadline.

Introducing
The Wasp
The Wasp is an electric scooter concept designed to change the experience of riding a scooter. We wanted to explore what options are available for steering as well as innovate towards creating a more dynamic and aggressive form.
The rear wheel steering function is similar to how one would turn on skis, pushing down and back with one leg allows you to turn the direction of the forward foot. This creates a dynamic way of maneuvering the vehicle.
